Plan a Visit.
If you are looking for a church community or if you are visiting the area, we want to help make your first experience at NBC a great one!
NBC is committed to revitalising itself and having a positive and significant impact for individuals, families and for the Nelson region. We love serving our community and we love Jesus. If you are curious, seeking, looking for community or wanting to be part of an exciting revitalisation project, come along and be our guest!

What's it like?
A typical Sunday at NBC starts with a welcome and we have music with a band. There will be some community notices and some community people care (you even get a chocolate bar if it's your birthday!) We also have prayer, a Bible reading, kids vid and then a pastor will share an interactive message. Most services are around 75 minutes and wrap up with a couple of final songs. We hope you will find it interesting and relevant.
You're invited to morning tea afterwards to chat, grab a cup of coffee and some delicious baking. Feel free to head home whenever you'd like.
It is free to attend, we take communion together monthly and bathrooms are out the back hall !
What happens for kids & teens?
We love our toddlers, kids & teens. Each Sunday there’s a kids slot in the service tied into the theme for the day. Then the kids and toddlers either have a craft or their program in the hall. Often our teenagers are kids leaders or they have teen worksheets in church.
For babies we have toys available, a parents area in the church foyer and a change table in one of the bathrooms.
After church, there is morning tea and kids activities or games in the main hall or out in the grassed backyard area.

What's the culture like at NBC?
At NBC, you can come exactly as you are. We hope you find a warm and friendly environment. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. You are our guest so you aren’t expected to give anything financially. Dressing casually is totally normal, or dress up a bit if you really want to.
We try and have variety in our Sundays with things like outdoor services in summer, Soup & Roll Sundays in winter, Easter & Christmas celebrations, Father’s & Mother’s day events, missions weeks, communion monthly and more. There may be a “theme” we are following too – come and see what is happening this Sunday.
